1. Get back into a regular sleep cycle

During the summer, we all enjoy being outdoors and having barbecues until sunset… However, not going to bed at regular times disrupts our sleep. That’s why it’s important to get back into a good rhythm a few days before classes start. After all, going back to school means returning to a sleep routine that’s good for your health.

2. Tidy your room

With holidays and weekend getaways, your room, or even your entire house, may be in need of a little freshening up. You’ll work better when you go back to school if your space is tidy. Want to make some new resolutions in your management style? Why not follow the 5 S method, a Japanese management technique: SEIRI – SEITON – SEISO – SEIKETSU – SHITSUKE. This method, developed in particular in Toyota factories, teaches us the importance of tidiness in businesses and is often translated as: Sort – Set in order – Shine – Standardise – Sustain.

3. Get back into sport

We all know the motivation we feel at the beginning of the year that pushes us to exercise. To start this year in good health, incorporate an exercise routine now! It’s very simple to do this: adopt simple habits and, above all, don’t forget to stay hydrated:

  • Start by taking the stairs instead of the lift.
  • Stop using your car to get to work!
  • If you take public transport, get off one stop early!
  • Stand up on the tram!
  • Download an app to exercise or watch videos on YouTube.
  • Go out and play or dance with your friends!
  • Do some DIY or gardening at home!

4. Eat a balanced diet

Barbecues, glasses of rosé, ice cream for dessert… We certainly celebrated the holidays! But it’s time for a break if you want to keep your slim figure. So, to eat well when you return to work, remember to eat a varied diet, eat regularly and control your portion sizes. Feel free to set yourself challenges, such as giving up sweets!

5. Organise your desk

New year, new tasks! Clear your desk so you can start the new working year on the right foot! You’ll have new space to stay efficient and be creative! A tidy desk means a successful return to work! Don’t forget to sort out pens that no longer work and stock up on school supplies.

6. Take care of administrative tasks

Every year, we accumulate paperwork, whether it’s administrative documents or letters that are now useless. It might be time to clear out those drawers and cupboards from time to time to make room for new memories! Take some time to sort through your emails, file your bank statements, complete all your administrative registrations for the start of the year and make any medical appointments.

7. Get organised

The start of the new school year doesn’t have to be stressful – you’ve only just come back from holiday! To avoid this, think about getting organised and planning your next few weeks. Then you can focus entirely on your tasks! To do this, choose your favourite diary as soon as possible, as it will be useful all year round!

8. Assess this year’s goals

After the holidays, we may feel a little lost for a short while. This is the perfect time to set new goals! Whether it’s professional, financial or sporting success, you’ll be all the more motivated!

9. Enjoy more time with your family

With the children back at school or university, you may not be able to spend as much time together as you did during the holidays. So make the most of these few moments to have fun together!

10. Extend your holiday

The new school year may not start in September for you! Why not go on holiday? After all, there are only advantages to travelling during Indian summer! You will have all the time you need to rest and enjoy the summer a little longer!
